The NC-Pre K Program at De Paul Academy follows the Creative Curriculum® with the GOLD® standard which is required by the state of North Carolina. This curriculum embraces the philosophy of learning through play. It offers a variety of activities that integrate physical, intellectual, and social-emotional stimulation. Our highly skilled and trained staff provides special emphasis on the spiritual and cultural uniqueness of the children and their families. Lesson plans emphasize experiences and relationships to build individual competence and positive self-esteem. Weekly curriculum plans and schedules are posted in each classroom. In addition to our regular staff, a large number of volunteers help the children with sports and games, music, dance, reading, storytelling, cultural festivals, etc.
Applications for the NC Pre-K program are taken year round. All applications are processed by the NC Pre-K program administration of the Guilford County Partnership for Children who will assign students to various providers mostly based on the parents’ choice. Parents are notified in late July about orientation, testing, and classroom placement.
We are currently offering two NC Pre-K classes in addition to classes for 2 year olds and 3 year olds.
